Stan, standing at the door for twenty minutes with a code that would not work is a rough way to start a trip, and you were right to call it out. That code should have been verified before it ever reached you. We now test every arrival code on the actual lock the morning of check-in, and the confirmation message does not go out until it opens. Glad the house itself lived up to it. Come back and take a slow morning on the porch with coffee before the resort wakes up. It is the best hour of the day out here. Hugo, that combo you named, the grill going and the hot tub after, is exactly how we hoped folks would use this house, so it's good to hear it landed. The quiet is the whole point of being out past town, and two bedrooms with their own baths means nobody has to negotiate anything. Next time you're back in Fredericksburg, stay up a little later and let your eyes adjust out by the tub. The sky out there is genuinely dark, and on a clear night you can pick out the Milky Way from the deck. One night was too short. Come back for a few. That stretch of the Hill Country is the reason we bought into this spot in the first place, and the house sits close enough to the good stuff that you never spend your whole day driving. Next time you come out, take the morning slow on the back porch with coffee before the heat sets in, then head out to the wineries and swimming holes nearby. The drive out that way in spring, when the bluebonnets are up along the roadside, is worth planning a trip around. We would be glad to have you back. What a wonderful Airbnb! We stayed here for an anniversary getaway and this stay was quiet, clean, comfortable, and private. The house was beautiful and spotless. It was also a quick and easy 10 minute drive to Main St where we could shop, eat, and explore the town. We loved the hot tub. Being able to watch the night sky from the hot tub was a romantic touch and the airbnb had great amenities. The bed was super comfortable and clean. The hosts were very responsive when trying to enter the house. My only gripe is that I wish I was aware before-hand that I would have to pay a $45 fee on an online portal to access check-in information. I've never had to pay an outside fee for an airbnb before. Overall the price was reasonable and worth it for the quality of our stay. It seems like the neighborhood is still developing and building a gym/pool so that should be a nice touch in the future! 10/10 recommend.Anonymous - Posted: 8/14/2026
Natalie, an anniversary in the hot tub watching the Hill Country night sky is exactly what that house was built for. Your point about the check-in portal fee catching you off guard is fair. I wanted to love this place more than I did. While I will say the host was very responsive when I needed something there was many things that I had an issue with. To start off it was so so hard to locate our house I eventually had to ask someone who worked at the resort to help us and it was all the way down the road. Then no instructions to get in the house was given and I was told there was a lock box on the side of the house. The side of the house was so grown up the grass was above my knees and filled with stickers and I had to walk through it to get the key for the house. Which when I notified the host they were great and did send someone out to mow the next day. And lastly the linens had a few stains on them. Overall the house was cute though and the price point was good but was disappointed with other small things.Anonymous - Posted: 7/5/2026
Kodi, walking through knee-high grass with stickers just to find the lockbox is not the arrival anyone deserves, and the stained linens on top of that made a rough first impression worse. Here is what has already changed: the area around the lockbox is now maintained on a regular mowing schedule, not just as a one-off. Arrival directions have been rewritten with landmarks and step-by-step entry instructions so no guest needs to flag down resort staff to find the house. The linen set from your stay has been pulled and inspected. The house itself is a good one, and the Hill Country is worth coming back to when the seasons shift. I should have cancelled when I had the chance. Everything was fine until about a week before check in. They requested an additional “damage waiver” be paid outside of the Airbnb platform. After much back and forth between the host and Airbnb it was waived. I would have paid it if it was disclosed when I booked the place. When we checked in there were bugs all over the place. On the sheets, bathrooms, the kitchen, hot tub etc. There was also hair still left around the master bath shower and sink. The beds are harder than rocks as well. I understand this house is around new construction but simple pest control would have solved this issue. I live in the country and my home has never been as infested as this place. They also request you take the trash out. No big deal… except the dumpster is two streets over at the unfinished clubhouse. So any trash you accumulate has to be placed in your vehicle and driven over. Overall I would not recommend this place.Anonymous - Posted: 6/20/2026

Words can’t explain how nice & new this home was. Had everything we needed and more, not to mention the jacuzzi was a nice touch. The stars are so nice in the evening. This thriving resort will be completed by next year and can’t wait to come back to stay again. They have their own winery, distillery and brewery. The restaurant was very accommodating and had lots of great choices. The grounds are very well taken care of and staff are very friendly. I would highly recommend you stay here whether you stay at a home on the property or bring a RV/Camper. Pricing was very good and would recommend a stay here. An easy Google Maps search could have given Arch Ray the correct address, but they currently have the wrong one listed. Even the people we communicated with could not provide the correct address or clear directions to the house. Once we finally got to the house -thanks to Arch Ray Winery management, not the “host” - the door code did not work. Thankfully, they were able to unlock it remotely, but we then spent the rest of our evening testing ways to get the door to lock and unlock properly when leaving. They even had someone come out at 9 PM to look at it. Eventually, we were given a new code and were finally able to come and go without worrying about being locked out. Other than those issues, the house itself was great. Hopefully the host updates the address before the next guest stays there. A wild goose chase with a 1-year-old close to bedtime is definitely not recommended.Anonymous - Posted: 5/10/2026
